Meet the team.

Syzygy can only ever be as good as the people in our team.

Thankfully, we have managed to attracted some of the most talented, accomplished and skilled individuals in the industry – team players who care deeply about what they do.

Between us, our team has over 150 years’ experience in the renewable energy and engineering world.  We also have more than 30 years’ commercial real estate experience in asset management, fund management and valuation.

It is this combination that enables us to provide a really effective 'bridge' between the two worlds.

Before setting up Syzygy in 2010, John worked in commercial property fund management for 15 years with Ashtenne Holdings PLC and at Spitfire Estates. In this period he set up, invested and managed investment from AXA REIM, Aviva, HBoS, Lasalle and BlackRock.

John was inspired to set up Syzygy because he felt there was a huge opportunity for a specialist consultancy that could successfully bridge the two different worlds of renewable energy and commercial real estate. One that provided pragmatic and practical advice, delivering well thought-out and relevant renewable energy solutions to both property owners and occupiers.

Away from work, John sails as much as having a young family allows him to, plays cricket and occasionally finds the time for a round of golf, normally at Trevose in Cornwall. In the winter he can be found at most London-Scottish home games boring young professional rugby players about what it was like in his day.

John is also a very keen cold water swimmer and can be found every morning before work at the Tooting Bec Lido. Now that is impressive…

Peter Massie Director of Operations

Peter joined Syzygy as Director of Operations in February 2021, and is tasked with supporting Syzygy into our next decade as we set to expand throughout the UK and Europe.

Peter is passionate about leadership and business development, future-proofing through innovation and the use of data and technology. He is responsible for overall business operations, and specifically focusing on Project Management and Asset Management Teams delivery systems and processes.

Peter gained a 1st Class Honors degree from London Southbank University in Architectural Technology in 2014 and his career includes Design Management and Project Management for Bouygues, Berkley Homes, and Turner & Townsend where he inspired, mentored and worked with teams to create their goals and maximised efficiency through the introduction of technological solutions.

A true Scotsman, Peter loves rugby and still plays occasionally – but socially rather than seriously these days. His love of the outdoors sees him hiking and trail running, and he can even be found competing in the odd duathlon!

Director of Operations
Kirsty Berry

We were thrilled when Kirsty joined the team in June 2017 as Projects Director with overall responsibility for advisory and delivery of all construction projects.

One of the most experienced renewable energy experts in the UK, Kirsty has worked in the industry since 1998 – she has worked on and delivered some great projects including the large Solar PV array above the platforms at Blackfriars Bridge mainline station in London and many of the UK’s largest Solar Farms.

Having completed an electronic engineering degree followed by a Masters in Renewable Energy Systems Technologies, she went on to work for BP Solar. This was followed by 17 years at Solarcentury in roles as a project engineer, project manager, heading up the project management team and finally adding a specialism in health and safety.

Outside of work, Kirsty is kept busy by her two young children, but finds time to wind down through Yoga practice and seeks solace in her garden!

Director of Projects
Diogo Nunes

Diogo has been at Syzygy since January 2015 and heads up the Asset Management team.

He graduated in Portugal as an Environmental Engineer in 2010. Since then, he has studied and worked abroad in Spain, Saudi Arabia and France.

He has a wealth of experience in a range of different areas and disciplines within the renewable energy and construction world. He has undertaken research and development into various solar technologies, and managed construction supply chains on huge projects as well as over-arching project management of many renewable energy projects.

Away from work, Diogo loves outdoor and sporting activities. He is a brilliant tennis player [these are not his words!] and is a handy midfield general on the football pitch, having played in some national and international competitions.

Bramble is Head of Wellbeing – and she’s rather good at making us all feel happy when she’s around. She’s also qualified with a Masters in Engineering in 2021 from Oxford University. She is so talented she has decided that she will only come to the office when she fancies it. It is rare to find a colleague that can chew through the toughest of assignments as quickly and efficiently as Bramble.

When Bramble is not at work, she is either asleep, scampering around London parks or found putting on performances in various pub gardens across Putney under the beady gaze of her parents Paddy and Jen.

Good Dog Bramble, keep up the good work.

Head of Wellbeing
Cecile Bousquet

Cécile joined Syzygy back in 2017 and worked in the Asset Management department for 2 years. As Syzygy developed its activities around EV charging, Cécile joined the EV charging department and helped developed our award-winning software evlab®.
